Jordin: Sparks or Burn Out?

Jordin Sparks of American Idol is living out her dream. She is only 17 years old and last year she performed on the hit reality show, American Idol. We all fell in love with her beautiful smile and she had such a sparkle to her, every time she sang she lit up the stage. She is now on a whirlwind tour to launch her new self-titled CD. She says, “Last year at this time, I would have never thought that I’d be making an album and working with amazing people.” She loves being in the studio making music and hearing the finished product. Sparks is definitely igniting glimmer these days.

Sparks did not win on American Idol and she has not made any new appearances since last year. Since she launched her own CD, this is the first time we are hearing about her. She may be living out her dream, but she is sure to fizzle or burn out. She had a lot of self-esteem issues on the show and fluctuated with her weight. Will Jordin Sparks be around next year, the American people will just have to wait and see? Most likely, no one will even know her name this time next year.

My opinion is that Jordin Sparks will soar and shine for many years to come. She was one of my favorite singers on American Idol. She really can sing and she has a beautiful smile. You could tell just by looking at her and hearing her talk when being interviewed that she is just an all around nice person. She is so down to earth, that even if she makes it big, which she will, she will not forget her hometown or where she got her singing career from. I know Jordin will light up any stage she is on because she definitely loves to perform on stage. She could woo the crowds any time. You go girl!

Black Friday or Good Friday

The day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday because it begins the period when many retailers, who depend on the holiday season for much of their profits, break “into the black” for the year. The trade association had projected the slowest sales in five years for the weekend that begins with what has come to be known as Black Friday. Nervous retailers have cut their prices earlier than ever this year and opened their doors earlier than ever, 4 a.m. just to lure in the shoppers. Consumers feel their wallets are tighter than last year and are controlling their spending due to the bad economy.

If the retailers make a profit than November 23, 2007 will be called a Good Friday. If the consumers come early to the store, they win and get a free gift with a discount. Retail analysts said that many electronics and computers games will be the hot items this year. They are expected to be the hottest targets for bargain hunters this year. Many customers lined up Friday morning just after midnight at Best Buy stores because the managers started handing out discount vouchers for Wii, Nintendo, Playstation and iPods. Crowds jammed the streets in front of Macy’s in New York, which forced the managers to open even earlier than planned.

I believe this shopping day was a Good Friday, because I was at the best mall in New Jersey, Garden State Mall in Paramus and it was packed. It took me around twenty minutes just to find a parking space. Any store that I was shopping in was crowded and you had to wait in a long line just to purchase anything. I know people are worried about spending a lot of money, but there were so many bargains and price cuts that I think the retailers are hoping to reverse the effects of the economic downturn.

Delta and United Airlines: Merger or Risky Business

United Airlines and Delta have been talking about a merger of the two airlines. Both airlines are denying it, but it is all over the media. United and Delta are one of the two largest airlines in the United States. They would keep the United name and drop Delta. Delta is denying these published reports and advising the public that there is no talk about a merger in the near future. On October 12, 2006, the CEO of Delta, Gerald Grinstein that he had possible “feelers” from United about a merger. There is nothing official yet, but we will have to wait and see in the near future.

If these two large airlines merge, they might be taking a risky business. There is a sense of urgency in the most recent talks. Rushing into a merger is not good for either company. United Airlines is the second largest airline and Delta is the third, so why take this risk? There will be a lot of layoffs and relocation of employees. In this economy, we can not risk more people on unemployment.

I am sure the merger will happen. When two big companies even start talking, it usually means there is some truth to the merger. There will be many financial transactions that they would have to clear up, but after that it will be announced. The only thing I do not like about mergers is that employees do suffer, whether it be relocating to keep their job with the airline or involuntary fired. Though there is one good thing about this merger if it happens, the airfares will probably go down and more people will be able to go on vacation.

Prince Harry: Royal Break-up or Royally Dumped

Prince Harry and his long time girlfriend Chelsy Davy broke up. Did she break up with him or was she dumped? The Britain papers are stating that she broke up with him. Chelsy is from Zimbabwean, South Africa and goes to school in England. She started dating the Prince three years ago. She was tired of his playboy lifestyle and lack of commitment. Prince Harry is always seen having fun without her and she wanted a serious relationship with him. Prince Harry is only 21 years old and does not want to commit to any relationship, so even if this is a break-up, he will get over it.

Did Prince Harry really dump his long time girlfriend? Yes, most of the media is stating, that Prince Harry did the breaking up. Many people believe he was in love with Chelsy Davy and is very upset about the break-up, but he is also very young and he had no choice. Prince Charles and the royal family do not want to comment on their private lives so they will not confirm anything. Prince Harry just graduated from Britain’s elite Sandhust military academy. He is focusing on become an army officer and one day wants to serve on the front line in one of the wars, Iraq or Afghanistan. Prince Harry has so many other things on his mind that he probably needed to dump Chelsy because he has no time for her or does not pay attention to her as much as she wants him to.

My opinion is that he is a Prince and that it was a mutual break up , it is not what all the Britain tabloids are making you believe. She is lucky to have dated him and should realize that as a Royal Prince he has many obligations that he has to attend to. She should have more patience with him. After all he is only 21 years old and just graduated military school; so of course he is going to want to spread his wings and expand his knowledge. Chelsy should have just sat back and let him have his fun and she could have continued her education. When the time is right, he would have asked her to marry him. She is a fool and hopefully one day soon she will realize that she made the biggest mistake of her life by letting him get away.

Broadway: Showstopper or a No Show

Broadway was shut down Saturday, November 10, 2007. There were many showstopper plays that went on strike. “Wicked”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Mamma Mia” and many more musicals and plays were among the most popular shows that were shut down. These amazing showstoppers were very disappointed by not performing, but they had no choice but to strike since they have been working without a contract for awhile now. There has been no agreement met in the last three months or no new negotiations set up between the union and the companies. Their goal is to get a fair contract and to pay the workers what they deserve for their great performances.

It is very disappointing that Broadway has to suffer and no shows are being performed due to a contract that should have been negotiated many months ago. It is a shame that there has to be a walkout this time of year. Most people like to visit the city in November and December for the holidays. Besides affecting the tourists, the economy will suffer too. New York will have to step up and hopefully the union and producers will be able to work this strike out rather quickly.

This strike affected me personally because I had tickets to see “The Phantom of the Opera” through St. John’s University. My father has been really looking forward to seeing this play for several years now and ever since I said that my college is offering a discounted ticket through the Parents Associations, we jumped on this opportunity and got the tickets. Now that Broadway’s lights are dim, so are mine. I am very upset and hope that they resume negotiations soon so my family and I could go see the play, but not just for me and my family, I really do hope the strike does not last long because there are a lot of people that are disappointed and want to see showstopper performances on Broadway.

Was Katie Holmes entrance to the Marathon Fair or Unfair?

Katie Holmes was admitted to race in the New York Marathon on November 4, 2007. Was this unfair to others that were not selected? Yes, most of public feel that she only got a spot in the marathon because she is a star and this is preferential treatment. There were over 60,000 hopefuls that were denied. She was not given a spot through the lottery system, she got VIP treatment. She does not even have competitive running time. This was definitely unfair and should not have happened.

On the other hand, there were many stars before that were admitted to race in the NY marathon so why not Katie? She does bring a crowd especially since her husband is Tom Cruise. Celebrities and people with name recognition are good for any sport and it adds a little glamour and Hollywood to New York. This is good for public relations and it brought a crowd to the race. She completed the marathon in 5 hours and 29 minutes which is not too bad.

I feel if a celebrity wants to run in a marathon and goes about it the right way, then why not. She did not pull any extra strings and she did draw a crowd, so the media should just stop looking for trouble. She finished the race and she was a serious contender. Her husband and daughter were waiting on the sidelines for her and greeted her with a smile after she finished the marathon. I think it was a great thing for the city and more people showed up to watch the race because of Katie Holmes.

NOEL: Tropical Storm or Hurricane??

Noel, tropical storm hit the Caribbean Islands pretty hard this past week. It caused mudslides and widespread flooding. There were many deaths, in Haiti, Jamaica, Bahamas and the Dominic Republic suffered the most. Noel dumped inches of water at a time and devastated all the areas with flooding anywhere it landed. There were even rough surf warnings in southern Florida. The waves were so high, they were pounded the beaches in Miami. The Dominican President, Leonel Fernandez, declared a state of emergency for the next 30 days. He asked for help and as many volunteers that could get to the Island. This storm caused an estimated 30 million in damages to the Dominican plantations.

Noel was called a tropical storm, but it was more like a hurricane. It has been one of the deadliest storms in the Caribbean’s since 2004. For the Atlantic region, Noel is the second deadliest of the 2007 season. Hurricane Felix, category 5, was the worst. Noel’s center point was about 110 miles southwest of Nassau, Bahamas and about 175 miles southeast of Miami. It had winds of 60 mph and even stronger gusts of wind then that. If this was labeled only a tropical storm, then I would not want to be in the Caribbean when a hurricane hits.

My opinion was that this was more than just a tropical storm. To devastate all of these islands and kill many people, this should have been called a hurricane. There are many volunteers needed to help these people and the islands to get back into shape. It will take along time for them to even get their plantations, which is where they make most of their money, back to a monetary state. Refugees had to be evacuated and go into schools for shelter. The storm killed at least 66 people in the Dominican Republic and 40 in Haiti and one in Jamaica. For me, I feel this storm was worse than Hurricane Felix, which killed 101 people in September.

The BEE movie: BUZZ or STING

The BEE movie is created by Jerry Seinfeld and is a comedy that you will never forget. It supposedly will change everything you knew about bees. It is narrated by Jerry, where he shows the audience a closer look at the world through the eyes of one bee in particular, Barry B. Benson. The buzz around Hollywood is that the BEE movie is going to be a hit and make a lot of money. Jerry is brilliant, funny and really makes gets into the bee character.

Of course there is the other side of Hollywood that is making fun of Jerry and wondering why he has to stoop so low to do an animated movie. So the question here is will the movie sting people and not make the money it is suppose to. Only time will tell, the movie comes out Friday, November 2, 2007. Barry that is played by Seinfeld is not content in his black and yellow world, could this be the way Jerry is feeling lately. Jerry is a great comedian, but is his movie about bees going to be funny or sting us in the eye, not to even go and see it.

If anyone could make a movie about a bee funny, Jerry Seinfeld could do it. I think this movie is going to be a hit and the buzz around Hollywood will be just that. He was great on his TV show and he really knows how to hit you with those one liners. He is so down to earth and just reading about the movie and playing the part of a crazy bee that wants more out of life and pursues college life and more than just making honey. I am sure Jerry will make Barry, the bee come to life that after your see this movie, we will see bees in a different light. Go Jerry!

SAW IV – HORROR OR HORRIBLE?

Saw IV movie has been a hit since 2004. Saw is one of Hollywood’s most successful horror film franchises. It is opening this Friday, October 26, 2007, perfect timing for Halloween. Nationwide there are so many fans that are going to be lining up to see it. Fans will give blood to see this bloody movie. Lionsgate film studio has launched a blood drive just to promote the film and boost blood donations. Last year, they collected around 23,500 pints of blood through local efforts, this year they are joined nationwide with the American Red Cross and Yahoo. The “Saw” movies are among the bloodies on silver screens but it does promote a good cause, so this horror movie is great and it should be a success.

Saw movies could also be horrible because it is not a good influence on children. After seeing Jigsaw, one of the main characters, abduct people and tortures them with a lot of crazy traps that injury them in such a way that all you see is blood. Children today copycat everything they watch. This movie presents too much horror and killing that it is not good psychologically to watch. They should remove these horrible films from the shelves and replace them with something they can relate to or role model.

Even though I do not like any scary movies, I do think “Saw” films are great to see especially around Halloween. There are so many teenagers and kids that look forward to these horror movies that if the film industry did not put a new one out each year, they would be sad. I also think it is a great thing what Lionsgate is doing with linking a blood drive with the bloody movie because maybe in the future it will influence the teenagers today to do good things in the world, and to look at the bright side of things, not the bad side or horrible side.

California Wildfires: Deliberate or Devastation

California wildfires have been burning out of control since October 21, 2007, near Irvine. There has been around 3800 acres of brush fire that the Orange County Firefighters have been trying to control. What happens is that once there is one spark that is ignited to the next area, then there is no stopping it. This state is under a state of emergency for seven counties. The Santa Ana winds have been making the fire even worse. The winds were clocked at 60 mph and this has helped fuel the fires, which is now up to about 35,000 acres and at least two deaths. This is devastation to California and all of its land and it is also destroying million dollar homes in Malibu.

How did the fires really start? Was it deliberate? Was it from Global Warming? Most people are saying global warming started the fires since everything is so dry and hot. It could be global warming, but in the mean time the FBI have to get involved. The FBI Los Angeles is assisting Orange County fire officials to investigate into the source of some of the fire. There could very well be a possible arsenic case because there are just too many fires that are burning. After one section is put out, another one began; this is so out of control that it is going to be very hard for the firefighters to stop the fires.

My opinion is that whether the fires started deliberately or not, it is still devastation to any State. I do feel it was not deliberate though because I do believe it is global warming that started the fires and this will continue throughout the country if we do not do anything about it. Anyway it is best we keep an optimistic attitude even though California lost many acres and destroyed more than 1,000 homes and businesses. Governor Schwarzenegger said, “We have to do everything we can to protect the people and protect the property.” I feel this is a very good statement and I do hope we could stop the fires from burning anymore.

Torre – Offer of a Life time or an Insult

Joe Torre, the Yankees coach was offered by Steinbrenner, a one year contract with a pay cut to remain as manager of the Major League Baseball club. Torre believes that the fact that somebody is reducing your salary is sending a message that they are not satisfied with what you were doing. He feels highly insulted and will not accept that offer. He was very dissatisfied with the length of the contract, because only offering him one year is a job that would be in jeopardy every year. He could not take that stress, so he refused the offer.

If you think about the offer, it was still a good one. Torre turned down a five million dollar deal, one-year contract. Even though it was les than what he made this season, it is still a lot of money. Torre is getting old and even though he is a good manager, he has been with the Yankees for twelve years and has won four World Series titles.

In a way I feel sorry for Torre because he did devote twelve years to the Yankee organization and they slapped him in the face by offering him only a one year contract. He gave the Yankees his best and it was the best time of his professional life. I would have expressed my disappointment to the league if that was offered to me too. He is a peace with his decision and I am glad he turned it down. Any other league in their right mind will snatch him up. We will just have to wait and see what happens.

David Copperfield: Magician or Misconception?

David Copperfield, one of the greatest illusionist around, has been accused of sexual misconduct. The FBI raided his warehouse for evidence that stemmed from an alleged incident in the Bahamas. A woman in Seattle filed a police report alleging that she was a victim of Copperfield, but never stated what happened to her. According to the Las Vegas Review paper it had something to do with sexual misconduct. Could this be true and how could he make this disappear? Sometimes famous people take advantage of people and think they could get away with anything. Copperfield needs to perform an illusion to get out of this alleged sexual incident.
Copperfield is a very famous illusionist and in today’s society everyone is looking for money. This alleged incident is probably a misconception or mistake. The woman from Seattle just needed money and wanted her name in the paper. Copperfield has been performing since he was 12 years old and is very good at what he does. He travels all over and works in Las Vegas. He does not need to buy sex or affection. He could get anyone he wants and I am sure the truth will come out.
My opinion is that David Copperfield is not guilty and that he is being set up for money. The woman wants fame and fortune and just happened to be at the right place. The truth will come out and hopefully she does not get one dime from the magician. I do not think he would ever do anything like the alleged report stated. He is very good at what he does, and does not need his name in the paper from something that will be a misconception or fallacy.

Pamela Anderson – Wedding Bliss or Another Misfortune?

Pamela Anderson got married for the third time to Rick Salomon, Paris Hilton’ ex-boyfriend. Is this going to finally be wedding bliss for the blonde bombshell? She jumped into another marriage after only dating him a couple of months. Hopefully third time is a charm and she settles down with one guy instead of going back and forth with her last two loser husbands, Tommy Lee and Kid Rock. The press is saying she had to get married because she is pregnant, but Pamela denies this. She only says that she is extremely happy and this is it for her.

The press is probably right and her wedding bliss is really a misfortune, because she is pregnant and this is why they rushed into marriage. Pamela begged Rick not to say anything, but it got out to the press anyway, so she just confirmed it. In Touch Weekly that she is two months pregnant. Pamela seems to be known for her legendary poor judgment, but hopefully this quickie marriage will last forever. Pamela says it is fate and she is happy that she is pregnant because she is not getting any younger.

I think she is crazy for getting married again. Her marriages never last long and she should just live with them. Her two children she has now, probably are so confused and they do not know who their mother is with half the time. Anderson likes to be in the limelight and I feel she just does this for attention. Will she ever be happy? I do not think so, she will always be known as a sex symbol with a reputation that will never make her look good. She should start being a mother and stop the craziness.

Shooting Spree or Suicide Mission?

On October 10, 2007, a 14-year old student from Cleveland, Ohio opened fired at his high school, wounding four people before killing himself. He got suspended the day before and stated that he got something for them and he would be back. He was suspended for fighting with another student and warned his classmates that he would attack. Of course, they did not take him seriously, but they should have. Asa H. Coon has been suspended before and is known for fighting and cursing at students and teachers. How did a gun get passed security and metal detectors? Was he planning on going on a shooting spree? The police found two revolvers and a duffel bag stocked with ammunition and knifes. There was no suicide note found.


Coon suffers from mental illness and has tried to commit suicide before. So was this shooting spree a mission to succeed with committing suicide. He was crying out for help for many years and needed attention and the only way he felt he was getting it was by fighting with everyone. He was known for bickering and cursing at teachers and students. Besides having mental problems, he also spent time in juvenile facilities and threatened to commit suicide. This was an easy way for him to commit suicide. After shooting four people, he probably did not think twice about killing himself. He was that sick.


My opinion is that some teachers new he had problems but they did not seek to help him so this is why there are so many problems in the world today. Why was he not in counseling or seeing a psychologist? He obviously had a lot of anger in him by fighting and cursing at people, so I feel this was definitely a cry for help and he was going to commit suicide one of these days anyway. He did not have a good family life. It is a shame that our children in today’s society have to fear even going to school. School is supposed to be a place where you are protected and feel safe, in the last couple of years that has changed. Hopefully one day we could get back to normal and not have to look over our shoulders every time we walk down a school hallway.

Isaih Thomas: Guilty or Innocent of Sexual Harassment?

Isaih Thomas, coach of the New York Knicks was found guilty of sexually harassing a former team executive Anucha Browne Sanders. She was awarded $11.6 million in damages, but did not have Thomas pay any punitive damages. Was Thomas guilty or not? He probably was guilty and harassed many other people in the organization but never got caught. He should be fired for his actions.

On the other hand, if Thomas is innocent, then it is a shame that Sanders is awarded all this money for all the incorrect reasons. He pleads that he is innocent and he tells the media that the jury’s decision was incorrect and plans to appeal the verdict. He will fight this to the end and will continue to focus his career on the New York Knicks. He says the truth will come out and he never sexually harassed Sanders, he is innocent.

In my opinion, Isaih Thomas is probably telling the truth, because I do not feel he would jeopardize his coaching job. Also Sanders has claimed sexually harassment in another organization before this time. I feel she has some mental issues and needs to be in the limelight. She does not deserve the pay out of $11.6 million. She should does not want to work and that is the bottom line.

Spears: Normal or Insanity?

Britney Spears has lost custody of her two boys because she has not been following the judge’s orders. Spears is trying to stay on top of the issue and behave normally, but the media is getting in her way. She will have monitored visitation rights every other day. Britney is following the judge’s order now and is behaving like a responsible person and a good mother. She went to Los Angeles Motor Vehicle to apply for a driver’s license and was issued a temporary one. The court is just trying to give Britney a wake up call and hopefully this will and she will get her two children back.

On the other hand, Britney is definitely acting crazy and she needs to get her act together or she will lose her children forever. Britney has been in the news almost everyday because her life is so chaotic. She was seen a Starbucks, at night clubs and many of times with issues of not the proper care of her children in their car seats. Britney needed the court system to give her a wake up call because she is not acting like a loving mother. Maybe she has post-partum depression, but whatever it is, she better change her crazy ways.

In my opinion, Federline should keep his children for now, until Britney goes for parenting classes. She is acting very immature and she seems like she is on the verge of a breakdown. If she starts acting like a good mother and maybe shows the court and the world that she could change and stop going out and partying and doing drugs, then and only then would I agree that she should get her children back, but not until that happens. I do hope she changes for her kids’ sake, because I am sure they rather be with their mother and they will miss her very much, which is sad for the children.

Mets Meltdown or Clincher

Are the New York Mets having a major meltdown for the National League East clincher? The New York Mets were having a great season, until the last couple of weeks. They lost the last five straight games and this put them out of first place since May 15. What happened to the amazing Mets? Friday night, September 28, 2007, Pitcher Oliver Perez hit two batters with bases loaded and coughed up six runs. Mets are in a disaster and need to come out of it right away or they are going to blow an opportunity of a life time. They will not be able to be in the playoffs this year. They are nearly out of first place and out of time if they do not get their act together. There has been no major league team that has blown such a big lead in such a short time.

The New York Mets still have time to clinch the title for the National League East and they are a team that will do it. The Mets are still in a good position to do it and they have the support of their fans. Every game will be exciting to watch and if any team could do it, the Mets can come back and will come back to clinch the NL East. The Mets still have a good chance and they need to work hard to get to where they were in the beginning of the season. The Mets will make the playoffs and they will show the public that they can do it. They do not want to be in a meltdown situation, instead they will come out playing hard ball and make the other teams freeze in their position.

I think the New York Mets probably will not have enough time to come back and clinch the National League East. They have been playing horrible ball and making stupid mistakes. They are not in a good position to even be a contender for the wild-card race, either. They are on the brink of collapse and are having one of their longest losing streaks. I think it is going to be hard to come back from this. No team has ever come back from such a long losing streak, that I do not think the Mets will overcome and clinch. They are on a major meltdown and I feel they will stay there. There goes the amazing Mets!

Memories - lost forever or remembered forever

Memories are good and bad experiences that you recall from you brain. Memories are what keeps us going in life. Memories are often accompanied by feelings and emotions. Everything we learn becomes a memory. We reflect on the nature of memory every single day. Memories feel so realistic that it is the best feeling in the world. Every day occurences become tomorrow's memories. Memory is time that is continuous, through which the present and the past are intertwined together. Some people have a photograhic memory and remember whatever they see, through their eyes. Others have memories that they recall when reading something for the first time and then remembering everything they read. Memories are images that feel so good inside you and make you want to talk about them with other people.

On the other hand, memories could be misplaced or lost or some form of amnesia. Some people suffer from memory lost and get so frustrated because every thing seems to be the first time for them instead of having a memory or an experience that they should remember. Sometimes we have to search for memory which is not a good encounter. Some people suffer from memory impairment and their brain just loses the storage of the memory. This must be a horrible event to live through. Hopefully with treatment, people could get back their memories. Memories are such a part of your life that someone with a memory loss probably would not feel like a whole person.

I feel memories are good and I am so glad that I have so many to share and express to my family and friends. Just thinking about my memories of high school, friends or my grandfather that just passed away this December brings such joy to my face. I love to reflect on the nature of memory when I am alone at night in my bed. I love to think about everything and everyone that comes to my mind either from my day-to-day experiences or to recall memories from my past experiences. I seem to remember the good and block the bad incidents. Memories are stored in our brain and we all have long-term memories and short-term memories. I am glad that we have both to stumble upon. There is nothing like a feeling of leaving your house and forgetting where you put your car keys. I do this all the time, so I think I already have short-term memory loss, but I just make a joke of it. Memories become your best friend and they are great to reminisce.

What come around, goes around? Carma for OJ Simpson

OJ Simpson is in the news again. He is being charged for armed robbery with kidnapping charges. OJ got away with murder over ten years ago, but looks like he will serve time in jail now. He charged into a hotel room to claim what he thinks is his sports memorabilia, but obviously it does not belong to him any longer. Simpson and three other people that also had a gun at the scene, will face a total of 11 charges and could possible send him to prison for the rest of his life. What comes around, goes around. Isn't it something, carma ususally comes back and bites you. He dodged the "trial of the century" when he was accused of murdering his wife and friend, but now has to fight again for his life. Simpson believes he did nothing wrong, but the public is tired of hearing the same old story. Everyone feels he is arrogant and deserves whatever he gets. Hopefully alot of jail time.

OJ Simpson became famous as a football player many years ago. He does like the limelight and just because he was acquitted for the murder of his wife and Ron Goldman over ten years ago, why should the public believe he is guilty already, without hearing his side of the story. Maybe all the sports memorabilia really does belong to him. Maybe the person in the hotel room in Las Vegas was trying to sell it to make money. At one point or another OJ did own those collectibles, so why is he being accused of kidnapping and armed robbery. People should think before they react to what is in the news, not everything is a true statement. There is always two sides to a story and OJ will have his day in court to tell his side.

I feel OJ Simpson got away with murder and is definately a criminal. He belonged in jail over ten years ago and now I hope he is found guilty and goes away for the rest of his life. I think carma came back to haunt him and he will get what he deserves.

Double Standard for Hollywood People

Snoop Dogg escapes jail term. Is it because he is famous or it because he has money to buy his way out of jail? Snoop Dogg is a famous rapper, who is real name is Calvin Broadus. He was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon (baton) at Joyne Wayne Airport in Orange County in 2006. He did plead guilty of one count of felony possession. Snoop Dog only received community service, around 160 hours. Is this crazy? Just because he is a famous rapper, why should he escape jail time? If you commit a crime, you should do the time. Many people feel that Snoop Dogg should have served some jail time.

On the other hand, Snoop Dogg is a famous artist and he should stick to making music and performing, this is what he does best. After all, he was only carrying a collapsible baton. The public does not feel that he was going to do something bad with the weapon. His goal is to make music, not court appearances. He also does alot of charity work and appeared on the Tonight Show.

My opinion is that the famous rapper should definately serve time in jail. He needs to learn a lesson. He has been in the news many times before for other charges, even murder, so why should we let a criminal do what he wants to do. He was acquitted for murder charges in 1996 after an alleged gang member was gunned down in his vehicle. I would make sure that he never practiced music again and maybe if you take something really important away from him; he will finally start to see the light and change his horrible ways.

Comeback or Comedown of Britney Spears

Hey Guys, it's Ashley. I just watched the MTV Video Music Awards, Sunday night, September 9th. Did you see Britney Spears opening act? Most viewers feel her comeback was a disaster. She could not even lip synch, her dancing was horrendous, and she looked lost on the stage. Most people thought that her body looked horrible and her hair extensions had so many colors in them, that it's not going to fix her shaved head. Most people thought she looked nervous and stiff as a board. She had no self confidence at all. She looked totally psychotic.

Then there was the Britney Spears fans that thought she looked awesome. Her body was in top shape and she strutted her stuff across that stage like she owned it. She sang her new song "Gimme More" and her dedicated fans were yelling back "give me more". Britney has alot of support from her fans and family and she looks great after having two kids. It took alot of guts for her to comeback and give it her all. She did great after all the negative things that were written about her. Brintey is young and beautiful and will get through all the drama. Her fans were so happy to see her back in action and felt her dancing and singing was fantasitc. Britney is back and here to stay.

I feel Britney was just alright. I think she could have done alot better with the choreography. Her debut song was not that good, and she looked really nervous on stage. She should not have worn that outfit because her body will never be the same after having two kids. She still tihnks she can get away with wearing a bra and boy shorts. She has to focus on her career and her two beautiful boys i dont tink they would want to see her like that. Shes a mom now and has to start acting like one. Britney has been getting bad press about everything she does lately, but the news media has to cut her a break because she just had two kids and went through a bad divorce and is tyring to comeback. She has great talent and lot of fans that support her so she should not have trouble coming back and making millions of dollars on her music but she should try to do it more classy.

I write because I am told. I write for my own free will. I write for the person I am. I write for the child I was. I write for the adult I thrive to be. I write to express myself. I write to my loved ones looking down at the pages. I write to the heavens. I write to hell. I write when I am enraged. I write to remember moments with close friends. I write to remember the yesterdays. I write to find the building blocks I need to succeed. I write when I am in pursuit of a goal. I write when I am enlightened. I write when there are no thoughts. I write when there are thoughts bombarding my head. I write to settle unfinished disputes. I write to cause conflict. I write to strengthen my words. I write to create my own world. I write to make words 3-D. I write to drain the sadness from my eyes. I write for people that are to coward to speak up. I write to stand out. I write to blend in. I write to make peace with my past. I write to discover what my mind holds. I write to stand up for what I believe in. I write because it makes me less fearful of what lies ahead. I write for people to remember my good and forgive my mistakes. I write to calm down after a stressful day. I write knowing my words will not completely express what I am saying. I write and write but, still people do not understand me, still do not want to step into my shoes. I realize I can only write for myself, and my own happiness. I realize I have nothing to prove to those people. Why I write is a good question, and the answer is for me.
